傳統華人酒樓的喜宴一開始不在我考慮範圍之內
我不愛酒樓的鋪張喧鬧,不喜歡讓賓客無聊地坐著等菜上,等新人一整晚來敬酒一次,然後就各自散場。我只想要選一家餐廳,不需要隆重也不需要豪華,只要氣氛浪漫溫馨,賓客和新人都可以輕鬆的用餐,自由交流,歡笑充滿整個晚宴的感覺
但,要選擇心儀的餐廳,原來比想像中困難
一來不是很多餐廳符合我要求:獨立幢洋房,大家在戶內用餐,又有花園可以自由走动,食物水準不要太差,最重要的,符合我們的預算
從一開始籌備婚禮,我就在網上努力搜尋,這才發現,好些曾經舉辦婚禮的別墅餐廳,都已經結業了...... 難道在吉隆坡,這些餐廳都維持不了嗎
在網上找到好久,才找到一些曾經/適合舉辦花園婚禮晚宴的地點
婚禮餐廳選擇
1. Bora Asmara – bali style, 適合喜歡巴厘風味的新人
2. Subak - pencala indah, nature style,適合喜大自然花園的新人,不過晚上可能有蚊子的困擾
3. Ciao Restaurantte - 位於pandan,意大利餐廳,近來舉辦不少garden wedding,餐廳後面就是高爾夫球場,有個小湖,戶外已經搭好漂亮的gazebo。
4. Cafeliniss - 與ciao同一排,寬闊的後院有已經搭好挑高的棚,同樣有高爾夫球場景,可以容納200人
5. Courtyard Garden– 人氣婚禮花園餐廳,位於damansara height,缺點是缺乏停車位,餐廳空間略小。我電郵問是他們的答复是可能不獲准繼續在該處營業,所以有興趣的新人,自己再去問問吧!
6. Jarrod & Rawlins –與courtyard garden 同排,有自己的花園,食物有水準
7. RAMA V – 泰國餐廳,位於大使館區環境幽靜,有庭院和水池
8. The Smokehouse – 位於bangsar 的店鋪餐廳,沒有院子但法式鄉村風很有特色
9. Duchess Place - 餐廳氣氛不錯,許多馬來人喜歡在這間舉行婚禮
10. Dubrovnik Restaurant - 位於Solaris 的克羅地亞餐廳,雙層建築但沒有花園只有走廊
11. Haven Cafe @ ampang hilir – 位於Ampang Hilir 的單層獨立式洋房,有自己的花園草地,溫馨小巧的地點。
12. Passion Road – Jln Yap Kwan Seng 後巷,洋房別墅,餐廳的桌椅、佈置和涼棚都專為婚禮而設,配套包括裝潢婚禮場地。不過地方不大,花園擺滿長桌,能走動的地方不大。平時看環境不怎麼樣,不 過看過照片,經過佈置和燈光加持後,很有wedding氣氛。

14. Rahsia KL– this is a great secret hideout you can have your little wedding party in! However, some have found their space to be a little cramped if you are having a large party of guests. 很有熱帶花園feel,比較偏向馬來風格,不過價格應該蠻親民。
15. Bankers Club – Fast becoming a popular place for weddings, this venue’s star feature is their huge curving staircase many couples make a memorable entrance from. Accomodates up to 20 tables.
16. Tamarind Springs / Hill – Imagine having a jungle or resort themed wedding in this wonderful five-star restaurant! It will have your guests talking about it for many years to come! 五星級的泰式餐廳,也是熱門婚禮地點,有漂亮的裝潢和庭院,洋人都很喜歡這個地點。

23. Tana Rimba – A very unique garden venue 35km from KL. 隱藏在郊區環繞著自然樹林裡,雙層木建築非常漂亮,不過需要自己安排食物和佈置,晚上大概會很暗

婚宴需考量的事項:
1. 桌數:列名單估計人數,含雙方父母、新郎、新娘各自提出約有多少人數?估計可能參加的眷屬人數,合計起來才是總人數,列表同學、同仁、親戚、朋友的桌數與確認是否帶伴,先預先想好可能的桌數。
2. 桌數決定宴客場所大小,桌數在婚宴多久前還可以做調整?婚禮前多久(一周?)要確定桌數?(增桌或減桌)
3. 確認喜宴價格:每桌價錢?幾道菜?每桌容納人數?
4. 水酒:水酒飲料是無否為暢飲還是另外付費?是否有數量上限?水酒飲料的種類?是否有贈送N瓶紅酒?水酒飲料全程免費嗎?或只第一個小時免費?
若自備需另外付費嗎?是否收開瓶費?否收服務費?是否免費提供冰塊?每桌是否限瓶數?
5. 地理位置:交通距離會影響到儀式時間,可否免費停車?可以停多久?停車位有多少?是否有提供餐廳路線地圖,提供幾份?如有提供禮車接送,接送的範圍?
6.設備:投影設備 (ex: 投影布幕,投影機,是否需另外付費?)、DVD播放(誰負責音控,多久前提供試播放)、音樂、燈光,音樂撥放(MV)設備或卡拉OK?是否有提供婚宴前試用?提供多久前試用?是否提供無線麥克風? (新人、主持人致少要有三支要事先確認)
7. 日期、時間:(幾點前要結束宴客?宴會時間是否有時間限制?若是中午,晚上是否還有他人要使用同一個場地? )
8. 佈置:提供哪些佈置,如假花、拱門、放大照畫架、鮮花、汽球、桌花、喜糖、收禮台、框架佈置、主桌佈置、客桌佈置等 (要看到實景);有無提供物品:喜糖、端盤、菜單卡、桌卡…….等喜帳、簽名簿、色系、玫瑰花瓣、指示牌、相片架的運用為何?各桌布置為何?桌布、禮金桌桌布顏色為何?幾點可以開始佈置?

選擇場地時,記得要問:
1. Do you have a facility director? If so, will he be there on my wedding day? Is there a day-of coordinator?
2. What’s the maximum number of guests you can accommodate?
3. What’s the site fee? And what does that include?
Some venues will charge you $2,000 just for the space, others will include tables, chairs, and table linens. Don’t assume anything’s included—at some venues, you even have to rent portable bathroom stalls!
4.Is there a space for me to get ready?
5. How many hours do you allow a party to be here? At what time will my guests have to leave the facility?
Some sites charge up to $500 an hour for overstaying.
6. Is there a service charge on top of the bill? If so, how much?
7. Are there any consequences for not fulfilling the food and beverage minimum?
8. What's the backup plan? Make sure the facility has a contingency plan when it comes to bad weather or other unforeseeable circumstances.
9. What's the corkage fee if I bring my own wine?
10. Are there any additional costs-cleaning fees, insurance-fee waivers, etc.?
11. Are there restrictions for the photographer?
12. How many weddings will be booked on my day? / How many events do you host a day?
13. Must I use vendors of your choosing? (caterers & florists)
14. Will we need to bring in sound equipment?
15. Do you allow alcohol and open flames?
16. Who is responsible for setting up and tearing down the decor, and when will it be completed?
17. How early can I get into the site to set up?
18. Will you rope off an area for parking? Will our guests have to pay to park?
What to Negotiate & Check
Depending on your repo with the sales person, you may get some good perks and extra freebies here and there. Some may not cost much, but if it makes you happy, why not?
- Corkage Fee - This is usually a big cost for weddings if you don't nego. Hotels generally offer corkage waiver of 1 bottle of wine or hard liquor per table only but this is not enough. Try to negotiate for free waiver for unlimited bottles of wine or liquor (best deal - and some hotels do offer this, so ASK!). Else, try to nego for buying beer from them and waive all corkage charge. Or go beer free and pay an upfront sum (set a rate) for unlimited corkage for wine and liquor. Beer is always chargeable, so for this, there's no escape except to nego for lower rates. Again, check the market rate so you can quote and nego. During the dinner, remember to ask the hotel staff to serve alcohol upon request or during toasting. Besides the corkage charge reason, you won't want your guests to be drunk so fast. Assign someone from your side to keep tabs of the number of bottles open and used to avoid dispute later.
-Pre-cocktail - Nego for this and ask for sandiwches, cookies, etc to be served. Some hotels give on complimentary.
- Ballroom Charges - If you have less than a number of tables, they may charge you a certain usage fee. Ask for waiver or change location. Some ballroom charges also apply for usage after 11pm or midnight. Be sure to nego to lower the rates just incase, or ask for waiver/ leniency/ flexibility in applying this terms. If your extra timing is reasonable, they will usually allow it coz they don't want to appear too calculative too.

- Free day use of room for changing & make-up etc (better yet, nego for free room overnight)
- Free room/ area for tea ceremony (for guests who missed your tea ceremony)
- Free anniversary stay for wedding couple
- Free anniversary meal for wedding couple (try to nego for this, if they don't give free anniversary stay)
- Free food tasting for 10 pax (remember to give feedback, or change the fish, etc, if you don't like it)
- Free flow of soft drinks, chinese tea
- Check on banquet layout (table setting arrangement)
- Check on stage size & deco
- Check on backdrop, fairy lights, scallop ceilings, names of bride & groom
- Check on bridal arch, flower stands, and if any fresh flowers is provided for reception table, main table, all guest tables
- Check for chair covers with ribbons & their colour theme
- Check on red carpet for march in, L shape or straight
- Check how many waiters per table
- Check sound system and lighting controls (for march-in & band too)
- Check how many tiers of glass for toasting, how many tiers for wedding cake, they usually give free sparkling juice for toasting
- Check on bridal car parking & ask for 2 more parking space for groom & bride's parents
- Check on flat rate parking validation for guests
- Check on first course food presentation
- Check on special rates for room booking for outstation guests
- Check who will be incharged on that day
- Check on payment terms (usually full payment before the dinner)
- Check on deposit (check if refundable or transferable)
- Check for any miscelleanous or hidden cost (always read the fine print besides asking further)
Lastly, please make sure all of this is stated black & white in your contract before you sign and pay the deposit. This is to ensure that they honour their words and if the sales person changes, you will still be entitled to the same privilege as discussed.
